Born in an eminent family of Coochbehar, spent formative years at Kolkata. Father Late Manindra Chandra Bhaumik, retired as Deputy Chief Engineer of W.B. State Electricity Board. Married to Sharmistha. Two daughters both professionally placed & married.

After graduating with B.Com (Hons) from Goenka College of Commerce & Business Administration, completed MBA from Indian Institute of Social Welfare & Business Management majoring in Personnel Management.

Worked in several reputed companies. Last employment : Personnel Manager of ESAB India Limited. (Formerly known as Indian Oxygen Limited). After twenty years of professional career, persuaded business interest that include HR Consultancy, retail outlet of HPCL, travel house.

Was founder Director of NBTT Travel Solution Pvt. Ltd., Government of India approved tour operator.
